My story

This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.- Matches his people's energy; perks up for walks then will calm down when he gets home - Has done well with new people he's met at the park or at restaurants - Likes chewing on rope toys, munching on duck and sweet potato treats, and jogging with his people - Knows sit, paw and come - Rides well in the car - Would probably love a home with a fenced-in yard - Appears to be mostly potty trained and does well in his crate while his foster family is at work - Has done well when allowed to sleep outside of his crate overnight - Has done well with other dogs and would probably love having dog friends - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended) - Tested heartworm positive and has received a full course of treatment, but will need a free recheck at the ARL in November 2025 to make sure he's in the clear; will also need to be kept fairly calm until his recheck (more info at ARL) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Grey Weight: 37.5 Age: 3yrs 4mths 2wks
