Checkers – ID 12673 – Kennel 23 Arrived at the shelter August 9 American Pit Bull Terrier mix – Black & White – Male – 10 months old – 51.4 lb Up to date on vaccines – Heartworm negative – Will be neutered prior to adoption Meet Checkers Checkers is a charming 10‑month‑old young boy whose shy, sweet eyes slowly reveal a heart full of loyalty once he feels safe. After arriving as a stray on August 9, he’s now settled into kennel 23, where he's learning that the world can be a gentle, welcoming place. Checkers is ready to flourish with someone who will patiently help him shine. He already knows how to sit nicely, showing off his intelligence and eagerness to please. With just a touch of love and encouragement, his confidence is bound to blossom. In terms of health, Checkers is up to date on all vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm, and will be neutered before moving into his forever home. Now, all he needs is someone to see the sweetness beneath his initial shyness and help bring it out. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
