My story

I'm sitting with Apollo right now, and I have to type fast because I’m running out of oxygen. Every time I inhale, he scoots closer. He is basically a boa constrictor in hound form - except instead of squeezing the life out of you, he smothers you in affection.And here’s my favorite thing: when I check the dogs at the end of my shift, making sure gates are latched and everyone’s tucked in, Apollo is the only one who has no interest in my goodbye cookie. Instead, he places his head in my hand and leans as far as he can for pets. He craves contact over cookies. To him, the biggest reward is YOU.Apollo is three years old, impossibly handsome, with dark eyeliner eyes that give him a look of permanent mischief - like he knows a joke you haven’t heard yet. He’s goofy to his core, with play bows, pratfalls, rolling around like he’s laughing at his own comedy routine. He’s gentle, always, the kind of dog who runs yard laps with joy, then rushes over to comfort a dog crying behind a gate.What makes Apollo so special is how he wants to be exactly what you need him to be. One minute, he’s an adventure buddy, ready to chase a ball, hike a trail, or tumble around in the grass. The next minute, he’s the steady shoulder you can cry on or the warm friend who will snuggle your blues away.If you’ve ever wanted a soulmate who will always sit close, make you laugh, and wrap you up in the safest kind of squeeze, Apollo is waiting.You can meet him at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road in Hampton, any day between 9 and noon (yes, even weekends and holidays).Interested?
