My story

Checkers arrived in our program eager to share her heart with a human companion. She’s housetrained and crate‑trained, and she’s a model on the leash—walking is her favorite pastime. Medium‑sized at about 40 lbs, she moves with graceful energy and soaks up outdoor time like sunshine. This girl thrives as an only dog, preferring the undivided affection of just one human rather than competing for attention with other pets. She’s best suited for a home with kids aged 12 and up—someone who understands her need to be the center of someone’s world. Checkers would flourish with someone ready for relaxed neighborhood strolls, gentle guidance, and plenty of quality time together. She already knows the basics, and she’s eager to deepen her bond with patient love and fun.
