My story

Looking for a One-of-a-Kind Companion? Meet Unik! (Pronounced "You-nik" because, well… he is.) Unik came to us with no name, no history—just a quiet spirit and a body covered in burrs. But what we’ve uncovered is a gentle, sensitive soul who’s learning that life can be safe and kind. He’s incredibly sweet with humans—even while he’s still nervous about his face being touched. He’s taken everything in stride and hasn’t put a single paw wrong. Unik is doing beautifully with the calm female dog in his foster home and is especially good with puppies. Loud or barky dogs still scare him a bit, but he’s working on his confidence through slow, positive introductions—and he's already making big strides. He’s that rare kind of dog who just wants to be loved, to go slow, and to quietly bond with his person. He doesn’t need chaos, just kindness. A calm home with gentle humans (and maybe a mellow dog friend) would be his dream come true. **Unik is being fostered in Austin, Texas. Paid transport can be arranged.
