My story

🐾 Meet Nilla! Nilla is a 1.5-year old White Shepherd mix weighing in around 50 pounds of sweetness. With her beautiful dark eyes that sparkle like black pearls and her sweet pointy ears that flatten the moment she sees you, she’s impossible not to fall in love with. Though she can be a little shy at first, Nilla warms up quickly and shows her goofy side complete with head tilts and the silliest smile. She’s still building her confidence, but she’s eager to please and learns fast. Right now, she knows ā€œget in your box,ā€ ā€œno,ā€ and is working on ā€œsitā€ and ā€œshake.ā€ Nilla is house trained, crate trained, and good with kids (tweens and teens). She enjoys the company of other dogs, especially ones her size (her best buddy is Pancake, who matches her playful energy). She loves toys of all kinds squeaky, chewy, or ropey and she balances her playtime with cozy naps. On leash, Nilla is enthusiastic and still a little zig-zaggy, so she’ll do best with someone patient who doesn’t mind a pup that’s excited to explore. Because she has a touch of husky in her, she does overheat more quickly than most dogs so she’s best suited for short walks and plenty of cool-down time. The ideal home for Nilla would be a family with kids, another playful dog, or anyone ready to give her love, structure, and patience as she grows into the confident dog she’s meant to be. She may hesitate with car rides at first, but once inside, she settles nicely and will be just fine traveling to her forever home. Nilla is affectionate, playful, and ready for her happily ever after. All she needs now is a family who will see her for the gentle, loving girl she is and who won’t mind her butt wiggles and goofy grins along the way. To apply directly for Nilla click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-745 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nilla, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
