My story

Bandit is no ordinary dog-she's highly intelligent, endlessly curious, and packed with personality. Formerly trained as a service dog, she's retired now but still sharp as ever, with a deep command vocabulary and a love for problem-solving games, hikes, and long runs (she used to clock 4 miles a day).Bandit needs a home where she's the only dog-she isn't fond of other dogs and does best without small children around. She's active, agile, and surprisingly capable: she can open doors, climb ladders, jump fences, and figure out most puzzles you put in front of her. She's also a bit of a food critic-she'll take meat treats over biscuits any day, eats from a slow feeder, and takes daily joint supplements. She's not looking for just any home-she's looking for a person who appreciates her brilliance, can keep her safely engaged, and has a cozy blanket ready for her to burrow into at the end of the day.Meet Bandit - Your One and OnlyBandit is a 3-year-old, 50-pound heart-stealer with a white coat, brown markings, and a strong opinion about sharing her space: she's not a fan. Simply put, Bandit prefers her humans all to herself. She's not looking for a doggy roommate-she's looking to be your one and only. When Bandit joined a doggie playgroup, she made it pretty clear that group hangouts weren't her thing. After a couple of tense interactions (and some side-eye at other dogs), she let us know she's much happier flying solo. We listened-and we think she'll thrive in a home where she can soak up all the love without any competition. Also, best with older children and a home with a fenced in yard. Bandit is bold, loyal, and full of personality. She knows a lot of commands. She's the kind of dog who bonds deeply and gives her whole heart to her people. With no other pets around, she'll shine like the star she is. Additionally, Bandit also knows sit and takes treats gently (though she seems a bit picky about her treats). She would make a great hiking buddy and enjoys getting plenty of exercise. If you're interested in learning more about her, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Bandit 261976".She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 49.5 Age: 3yrs 1mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bandit, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
