My story

Hi, I’m Smokey! I hope you’re ready for a shadow, because I’m what humans call a Velcro cat—I’ll stick to you like glue! My favorite place is being held or wrapped around your neck while you go about your day. I’ve got these big eyes that will totally convince you to forget your plans and stay in for snuggles. But don’t be fooled—I’m also a ball of energy! I love to run, climb, chase toys, and play tag with my sister and friends. I do play a little rough sometimes (what can I say, I’m passionate about fun!) so I’ll need a furry buddy who can keep up with me. Cats or dogs are cool—I like them both. Oh, and a little warning…I think houseplants are super fun to hunt. I might need some training on that (or you might need to hide them from me). If you’re looking for a cuddle bug who doubles as your entertainment committee, I’m your guy. I can’t wait to be your best friend! Smokey is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
