My story

Benny is an adorable, 1-year-old, 15 lb Jack Russell mix who’s ready to find his forever family. With his sweet personality and moderate energy level, Benny is the perfect blend of playful and cuddly. This little guy loves exploring the world around him, whether that’s going for walks, sniffing in the yard, or joining you on small adventures. Once playtime is over, Benny is more than happy to curl up beside you for some well-deserved snuggles. If you’re looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion who will be your best buddy through thick and thin, Benny is your boy! Benny is smart, eager to please, and already showing great potential to thrive with a bit of positive reinforcement training. He’d do well in a home where he can get regular exercise and plenty of love, but he doesn’t require the non-stop activity level that some terriers do. We don’t know if Benny has had any formal training, but a (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class will help him build confidence, bond with his new family, and master good manners. Training is essential for a successful adoption, and Farfel’s is happy to provide a list of recommended force-free trainers to set Benny up for success. Benny has been fully vetted, is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and will be neutered before or arrives to Boulder on 9/3 or will be done with our local rescue vet at no cost to his adopter. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog.
