This affectionate girl is the total package—bright, playful, and oh-so-snuggly once the day’s excitement winds down. Sandie is one clever cookie! She’s already mastered sit and down (treats may or may not have been involved 😋) and is eager to learn so much more. She picked up the doggie door her very first day in foster care, proving just how sharp she is. She’s also a social butterfly! Sandie does great with other pups in her foster home and greets people of all shapes and sizes—from tall to small—with equal excitement. She’s still perfecting her manners (working on not jumping for hugs), but with a little guidance and patience, she’s going to be a superstar companion. ✨ Sandie’s Highlights: - 1 year old, 44 lbs, affectionate and intelligent - Already knows sit and down—quick learner and eager to please - Loves giving hugs (yes, she puts her paws on your shoulders 💕) - Great with other dogs, hasn’t met cats yet - House trained and doggie-door savvy - Medium energy with pupster enthusiasm - Will happily curl up for cuddles after the fun is done Sandie’s story started rough—she came into the shelter skin-and-bones at only 32 lbs not long after the Kerrville 4th of July flood. We're not sure if she got swept away in the water or was abandoned but no one came forward to claim her. But now, she is safe and being given lots of love, regular meals, and care, and she is now a happy, healthy 44 lbs and ready to find her forever family. This sweet girl would thrive with an active family who wants to include her in ALL of life’s adventures—whether that’s daily errands, weekend hikes, or just lounging together on the couch after a long day.
