My story

Meet Fern (aka Franni)!"Winnie" (Franni) is an 8 year old, 15lbs Havanese/Maltese from Alabama! She has adjusted very well during her time in the busy streets of New York City.Winnie enjoys short walks, playing with her toys, and cuddling.Winnie is likely completely deaf, but that doesn't stop her from already being well trained!During her time with her foster family, Winnie is regularly going to the bathroom outside in the morning, mid-day, and evening. She will also bark/cry to let you know when she has to go out. She will often "circle" in-doors when she has to potty, giving her foster family ample time to direct her to her pee mat if needed.Winnie is good on a leash, and walks at her own leisurely pace, often stopping to sniff with curiosity! She is an adorable, calm, and friendly pup.Winnie has done well in her crate during the night and her forever family will need to continue working with her to reinforce and advance the progress she's been making for alone crate time during the day. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with her favorite elephant toy.Winnie is looking for a relaxed family, as her walks are often short and she loves her rest time. She  would be great as a solo dog, or with another dog or pet at home.We would recommend Winnie go to a home with or without children, as she is friendly with everyone! She is looking for a foster to adopt home Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and microchipped. Spayed, heartworm negative, and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To adopt Franni, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2459235##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fern (Franni), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
