My story

This is Dusty, our female 7 year old Chihuahua. At first glance, she may seem shy, she takes her time to warm up and prefers calm, gentle introductions. But once she feels safe, Dusty reveals her sweet nature through soft tail wags, quiet cuddles, and the kind of loyalty that only comes from a dog who chooses you with care.Dusty is looking for a patient, loving home where she can feel secure and cherished. Dusty thrives in peaceful environments and would do best with someone who understands that trust takes time, but the reward is a lifelong bond. If you’re someone who believes in love at a slow pace and wants a companion who will adore you quietly and deeply, Dusty might just be your perfect match.Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $275 for puppies under 6 months of age and $225 for dogs older than 6 months. $175 for kittens under 6 months of age and $150 for cats older than 6 months.
