My story

How this pet arrived: Schackie was brought in by their previous owner on June 16, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you: This beautiful lady was overwhelmed when she first came into the shelter, but after some time and special care, she has blossomed into an affectionate and cuddly cat with her favorite people! Schakie takes time to learn about her environment and may be fearful in new spaces. She is looking for an adopter who can go slow as she adjusts--she's worth the wait! Schakie has done well with slow introductions with other cats. If you're looking for a darling companion, she could be the one for you! At SDHS:Schackie is a Behavior Center Graduate! This means they've been working closely with our trainers to develop skills through behavior modification to be successful, though they may need a little extra care to continue their amazing progress. We're excited to share with you what they've learned and talk through how to help them get comfortable in this next chapter of their life!
