My story

Hi, future human! I used to be a free-range dog. That’s right — I roamed the streets, living the rugged life: dodging cars, charming strangers for snacks, and sleeping wherever the moonlight hit just right. My motto was “Eat fast, trust slow.” I spent 7 months at Charming getting so much love from the staff, but being overlooked by everyone who stopped by. But then these nice humans scooped me up, gave me a bath (rude, but okay), and brought me into this magical place called a foster home. Let me tell you, friends…there’s air conditioning. Cold air. Inside the walls. They also have this soft, flat thing called a bed it is so nice to finally be treated like the king I am. There’s even a basket with bones and toys for my choosing. I’m really living the life now! I have a foster brother that tolerates me, but I would love to have a sibling that would play with me. I don’t mind when my foster’s dog tells me he doesn’t want to play, and I’m getting along with the neighbor dogs both male and female too. I’m not an aggressive guy at all—you can even take a tasty bone from me, no problem! I’m pretty quiet too, just have to yell at the bird sometimes. I LOVE to be with me people, but just sleep quietly while you’re gone. My foster parents are teaching me the “house rules.” Apparently, counter-surfing is frowned upon, toilet water is not for drinking (jury’s still out on that) and the worst rule is the big bed isn’t for 4 legged friends, very rude! In return, I’m mastering sit, learning not to jump (frankly, I’m so excited I just can’t help myself sometimes) and deploy puppy eyes to get all the snacks. What am I looking for in a forever home? Someone who loves walks, belly rubs, and laughing at my goofy antics. Bonus points if you have a couch, I can “accidentally” claim as mine. I promise I’ll protect you from ever having to use the indoor potty alone. If you adopt me, you’re not just getting a dog — you’re getting a former street legend turned indoor king. P.S. I come fully vaccinated, neutered, and with my own fan club (my foster mom & the rescue staff).

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Victor, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
