Meet BeanWe’re excited to introduce Bean, one of the lucky survivors rescued from the recent wildfires in Northern Ontario. Though his exact age and breed are unknown, we believe he’s about 1.5 years old and likely a Flat-Coated Retriever mix with northern heritage. What we do know is that he’s a happy, affectionate soul who has already won hearts with his calm and friendly nature.Bean’s journey to safety was a long one: he was surrendered with a number of other dogs and cats and then flew out of his community, landed in Thunder Bay, traveled to Sault Ste. Marie, and finally made his way to Toronto—with several stops along the way. Upon arrival, he went directly into a loving foster home where he’s settling in beautifully. He’s now looking to settle in with a family of his own.ABOUT BEAN:- Flat Coated Retriever mix 1.5 year old, neutered male, mid-sized approx. 50 lbs Friendly, gentle boy who enjoys being around people- Good with other dogs in foster homes and meeting dogs with slow and calm introductions- Happy to go for walks and may pull a little when exploring new environments but mastering his leash skills quickly- Not child or cat tested. May have a prey drive so not recommending for home with cats and small pets.- He is still learning not to jump up for attention so would only recommend for family with older dog savvy children.BEAN`S IDEAL HOME:- He’d love a fully fenced back yard so he can free roam safely- Family willing to continue working on his training and leash skills- Active family that is ready to take him exploring new areas and on hikes and then home to snuggle up and relaxIf you think Bean would make a great addition to your family please fill-in our online adoption application at: etobicokehumanesociety.com.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bean, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
