Markie was rescued from a heartbreaking situation where her owner, diagnosed with a terminal illness, was caring for 16 dogs in a crowded environment. Despite these difficulties, Markie's spirit remains unbroken, a testament to her remarkable strength and adaptability. This charming girl, a maltese/poodle mix weighing 8 pounds, is an ideal lap dog. Markie loves people and dogs alike, radiating warmth and affection. Although she had limited exposure to children, Markie would thrive with older, sensitive children who can provide a second chance at a life filled with love and connection. Markie is quiet, finding comfort in close human contact, and enjoys being swaddled in a baby sling. She will sit quietly in your lap while watching TV and loves to sleep next to you at night, cherishing every moment of companionship. Markie gets nervous when left alone, but would be perfect for a family that works from home, offering a sense of security and belonging.
