** If you are interested in Hope, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** There's nothing like sweet puppy energy and silliness! Hope is an adorable, wiggly, little girl. She is believed to be an Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua mix. At just 16 weeks old, this little girl was found roaming the streets with her siblings in New Mexico. Hope is currently 8 lbs, and expected to be about 16 lbs when full grown. Hope, although she was understandably a bit confused at the shelter, has blossomed into the happy puppy that she is and has shown that she is a silly, playful little pup. She really enjoys people and other dogs. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment with a puppy will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Since Hope is just a puppy, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Hope will form firm bonds with her family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Hope will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. However, she will still need 1 more parvo/distemper vaccines before it is safe for her to walk on public ground. Spay is required to be done before she turns 1 year old (7-8 months of age is recommended) and spay is required to finalize any adoption. Farfel's Rescue covers the full cost of her spay if our rescue vet is used. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hope, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
