Grey Stone

My story

A volunteer writes:Young Greystone is part of a bottomless and very large group of cats brought to the Manhattan Care Center for us to find them a new home. Most of them(although not all) are very shy, shaken up by the unfortunate turn of events that rocked their life and need time to adjust to their new reality. Greystone is a beautiful Grey with fluffy cheeks and a soft silvery coat. He rests most of the time at the back of his cubby(he leaves it to eat and use his litter box), his left eye (affected by cataract) hidden by a permanent wink. Greystone is not a hisser or a swatter. He is just not that used to much human contact and withdraws under my exploring fingers, sometimes closing his eyes when I talk to him softly(see his video). He will likely come around at some point like many of his housemates did. Still, a shelter is not the ideal place for fearful cats to come out of their shell. A safe and low traffic home and an experienced, understanding and patient new owner might make things much easier for Greystone to enjoy life as a pet...Greystone would love to have the chance to meet you!What my friends at ACC say about me:I have lived with cats in my previous home.I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.
