My story

Meet Cliff! 💙🐾 Age: 2 1/2 Years, 67# Breed: Labrador Retriever/Pyr, Crossbreed Temperament with- ● Dogs- When he spots another dog on a walk, his excitement is undeniable, and he cannot wait to say hello! ● Cats- We are unsure of Cliffs past with cats. ● Children- Due to his size and playful spirit, he is best suited to a home with adults or older kids who can keep up with his active lifestyle! ● Strangers- Cliff, who makes friends wherever he goes, loves meeting new people and is great with strangers! Training Needs: Needs some dog socialization. Crate Trained: Yes! Potty Trained: Yes! Activity Preferences: Meet Cliff, a dog who believes life is a trampoline! This happy-go-lucky boy has a spring in his step and a whole lot of love to share. He is a bit of a bouncy goofball who expresses his excitement with playful jumps and a big, silly grin. He is always ready for an adventure and approaches every moment with incredible enthusiasm. He is looking for a family who can match his joyful energy and help him with his manners. If you are ready to embrace a dog with a fun-loving spirit and an infectious zest for life, you will love having Cliff around! Describe the ideal forever home for your foster: The ideal home for this goofy giant has plenty of room to roam, both indoors and out. Inside, his forever home is a place where he has space to stretch out without knocking over a lamp. His family has a good sense of practicality, they have already tucked away the priceless heirlooms and fragile decor, knowing that a dog with his zest for life needs room to be himself. Most importantly, this dogs forever family is full of people who are patient, consistent, and have an enthusiastic sense of humor. They understand that his jumpy greetings are just a big show of affection, and they are committed to helping him learn better manners. Cliff is at his happiest, he erupts into a series of victory laps around the yard or living room. It’s an infectious display of pure joy that will make you laugh every time. Whether you're coming home from work or just walking into the kitchen, he's ready with enthusiastic leaps! He will never let a moment of excitement go uncelebrated. If you're ready for a life filled with laughter and a whole lot of love, come meet this happy goofball! This week has been all about celebrating Cliff’s huge personality! We have been busy channeling his zest for life, and he has truly excelled at being an enthusiastic, happy-go-lucky boy. Our walks have become a masterclass in joyful expressions! He's been practicing his happy bounces, showing off his impressive vertical leaps whenever he sees a new friend or a particularly interesting leaf. We are working on keeping all four paws on the ground, but it's hard to fault a dog for being so excited about the world! He doesn't just cuddle, he launches himself into a pile of happy, wiggly fur and lands right on your lap! This week was all about embracing his spirit and getting to know his fun-loving quirks. He's 67#s a dog with a ton of energy and an even bigger heart, and we cannot wait to see what is in the future for this pup’s forever home. To meet this sweet boy, apply at rubywhiskers.org/adopt Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval at rubywhiskers.org/adopt This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason. If the dog or puppy is not yet fully vetted, we can only consider applications from adopters within an hour's drive or 40 miles of Lemont, IL, due to required vet visits at our partner veterinarians. For fully vetted dogs or puppies, we welcome applications from out-of-state or beyond the 40-mile radius. Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners. The adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue) Microchip Rabies vaccine DHPP vaccine Bordetella vaccine 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease) General wellness care, including deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention Your adoption fee also helps support medical care for other rescue animals, including heartworm treatments, surgeries, and emergency care. Spay/Neuter Policy: We spay/neuter dogs at 16 weeks or older, at the discretion of the rescue and in consultation with our partner veterinarians. While some veterinarians recommend delaying the procedure based on a breed’s projected size, as a rescue, our primary goal is to prevent unwanted litters. Spaying and neutering also provide significant health benefits, including cancer prevention and reducing behavioral issues. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay/neuter for cats and dogs as early as 8–16 weeks. We carefully assess each case to determine the best timing for the procedure. Interested in Adopting? Submit an adoption application at www.rubywhiskers.org/adopt

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cliff, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
