What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me.Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!My purr motor is always running!I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.A volunteer writes: Stretching out his paws to rest his head in my hand, Chessboard closed his eyes and softly purred. He's like a furry little professor who wants to see us all be our best and adeptly holds us to it! At ten years young, Chessboard's entitled to some specific preferences and has a wealth of knowledge to pull from. He's a gentle and big hearted guy who keeps his eyes trained on our work. Head pets and cheek scritches receive a unanimous A+, but things like getting into an enclosed space or any kind of pet below the neck will, according to Chessboard, swiftly fail. Duly noted. Abandoned in an apartment with other cats, Chessboard and friends were taken care of by some kind neighbors and are now looking for a fresh start with you.
