My story

    My name is Earnesto, and I’m a 2-year-old, 15lb, Shih Tzu mix. My journey hasn’t been all sunshine and belly rubs. I’ve had a bit of a rough start in life, which means that new environments and people can be scary. Sometimes I might act grumpy or nervous, but trust me, it’s just my fear talking. With calm, slow introductions, I promise I'll show you my true lovable self.     My foster parents have been super patient, helping me learn to manage my anxiety, and in return, I’m showering them with all the snuggles and kisses I can muster. I adore sleeping in bed with my humans, snuggling up under the covers, and giving the best doggy kisses you’ll ever receive. And when I’m not snoozing, you can find me wagging my tail and sharing my toys with all my doggy friends in my foster home. I’m house-trained, love going for walks, and while I can be calm and quiet, I also know how to have a good time with my dog buddies. Now, here’s the scoop:  I need an adult-only home with a dog-savvy adopter who understands how to read my cues. - Fast movements can give me the jitters, so a gentle approach is key.  - To help me feel safe and confident in my new home, I’ll need a fellow canine companion who can show me the ropes. - And just between us, the more you try to ignore me, the faster I’m going to wiggle my way into your heart (and lap!). Please note: No apartments or shared wall condos, as I sometimes express my feelings by singing the songs of my people when left alone.
