My story

Meet Luthien—affectionately called Lulu by her foster family! At just 10 months old, this adorable pup is still very much a playful, curious puppy with plenty of energy and love to give. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and greets every new face with excitement, whether it’s a person on the street or a dog a block away.Lulu is a smart girl who has already learned “sit,” “stay,” and “come” in her foster home. She loves belly rubs, chew toys, long walks, and—like most puppies—treats! She’s also got a silly streak, happily “borrowing” shoes or other treasures if they’re left within reach, so her forever family will want to keep an eye on those favorite items.At night, Lulu is a dream. She settles right into her crate, sleeps peacefully without a peep, and wakes up ready for a new day. She also did wonderfully when meeting her foster family’s 9-month-old grandson, showing her sweet and gentle side around little ones.Housebreaking is still a work in progress for Lulu. Like many young dogs, she’s learning the ropes of when and where to go. Her foster family reports that she’s most reliable first thing in the morning after being in her crate overnight, but she sometimes needs extra patience during the day as she continues to figure it out. With consistency and positive reinforcement, she’ll get there.On walks, Lulu shows her energetic, social personality. When she sees other dogs or people, she gets so excited that she can pull and jump to try to greet them. She doesn’t mean any harm—she simply wants to say hello! With training and an adopter who can match her energy, she’ll continue to improve her leash manners.At the shelter, Lulu has met other dogs and shown herself to be a social, playful girl. She would likely do well with another friendly, energetic dog in the home, though she’d also thrive as the center of attention in a family who keeps her active and engaged.Her foster family describes her as happy, affectionate, and eager to be loved. With her puppy enthusiasm, Lulu will do best in a home that can provide structure, training, and plenty of playtime. She’s the perfect match for someone looking for a young, fun-loving companion who’s as smart as she is sweet.Lulu is currently in the comfort of a foster home.
