My story

Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. This sweet, people-oriented pup is crate- and house-trained, highly trainable, and thrives on structure, training games, and daily exercise. He’s bonded with our toddler and is learning to stay calm—he’ll benefit from continued positive-reinforcement training to channel his herding instinct. He’s also good with our two adult GSDs and enjoys playing. Bentley would do great in a calming/peaceful environment or where he can have his own space while he recovers from heartworm treatment. After that, he is a high-energy dog and would do great with a person or family that is active.  He is very loyal and eager to please.  He would be a great agility or obedience dog as he picks up on commands quickly and is highly trainable.  Bentley is very lovable (likes to be pet and give kisses), just needs some patience to get his energy out, and let him feel safe to calm down He is playful with kids but is currently being treated for heartworms and is in a home with a very active child - Bentley knows when the boy is active, and so he gets hyped up to join... but he needs to be still. The takeaway: this is a highly trainable, very family-oriented dog.  Further training and structure will make him an excellent family dog and companion. Age: 2-3 years Weight: 45 (needs to gain a little weight) Temperament: Gets along with other dogs and kids (but while healing, he needs to be calm) Training: Housetrained,  crate-trained,  knows commands,  sit, lay, place, heel, touch (very trainable, learns quickly) Vetting: neuter set for 9/23, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm treatment underway and paid for. Email for questions:     ambowcott@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. Bentley is a courtesy post for a caring foster with Lifeline.August 27, 2025, 2:00 pm
