Oscar is a fun-loving, energetic, totally entertaining little boy with a zest for life and a purr that sounds like a little motorboat in his belly, and expressive eyes that always seem to express how he loves to please. Oscar's favorite games are any that involve back and forth interaction with his human friends, but his absolute favorite is the Interactive retractable wand toy with feathers. Watching Oscar and interacting with him is guaranteed to elicit belly laughs! He has not had much contact other than with his foster dad, and some visitors but he was introduced to another kitten briefly and almost immediately began playing with him. He is very trusting and continually happy, not a scaredy cat at all, and he loves to have his belly rubbed, right up until his desire to play kicks in and he gets jump started into play mode again. Oscar was found barely alive behind an abandoned home in Mirimar. His mother had been trying to care for him as best she could for about 4 weeks in a desperate struggle. He was a little tiny mess of skin and bones, less than a pound and you couldn't pick him up or touch him anywhere on his body without feeling protruding bones. He was not moving much, and didn't seem like he had even the slightest chance of making it through another night. A woman found Oscar by accident during her nightly walk, and having 4 cats of her own, and a special needs son, she contacted a friend to help Oscar,. That friend then contacted a Saving Sage foster who came to get him and rushed him to the vet on a Sunday night, where he received a subcutaneous fluid injection, plus prescriptions for 2 different types of medications for parasites, and also a B12 injection. The ride home from the vet that night and the following day were touch and go, but deep into the next night and into early morning Oscar started showing positive signs of life, he began eating voraciously, and while eating he began doing something else... purring! This was a great sign, and the beginning of a miraculous recovery. Oscar turned out to be a little fighter (hence the name, after a boxing legend, Oscar De Lahoya) and after a mere 3 days, he was eating everything that was put down in front of him, and moving, and exploring, on still weak legs, and constantly purring, and his eyes opened wider and wider and he seemed to take on a little kitten smile, and day by day he became more animated, and healthier, and he gained weight, and developed a real instinct for utilizing the litter box, without exception. He is a joyful, healthy little boy now, that will undoubtedly be a perfect addition to any future forever home, and will surely bring nothing but happiness and good times along with him! Bring him home to be part of his success story! All kittens under 4 months old must be adopted in pairs unless the adopter already has another cat at home. Apply to become my new family today!
