Joy is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix whose name fits her perfectly—she’s a happy, affectionate, and playful girl. She was surrendered when her owner’s health declined, but it’s clear she was very loved and well cared for. Joy is smart and eager to please—she already knows “sit” and “down” and is always up for a game of fetch or tug with her favorite toys. When playtime is over, she’s just as content to flop over for belly rubs and soak up attention. Joy has previously done well with dogs, but was attacked a couple times by another dog in her most recent home and has been wary of them ever since. She is working on rebuilding her confidence around dogs. She would likely do better starting out as an only dog or with a male dog who is gentle and willing to give her space to feel safe. Dog meets are required for Joy if you have a dog. She is fully house trained, and does great in her crate. Joy would love an active home where she can enjoy both fun adventures and plenty of snuggles. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts playful and sweet, Joy may be the perfect match. Ready to Adopt?
