Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Meet Bella! Bella is a 1.5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing in at about 75 pounds. With her gorgeous white coat and soulful eyes, she’s as stunning as she is sweet. Bella is house-trained (95% there!), crate-trained, and does well on leash. She can be left home alone without issues—whether crated or not—and settles in calmly. She’s a medium-energy girl who enjoys daily walks, chewing on bones, and being brushed, but she’s also perfectly content to lounge on the couch once she’s had her exercise. This affectionate girl thrives on love and attention. She adores cuddles, follows her person everywhere, and will gently paw at you if you stop petting too soon. She’s also known for resting her head on you and gazing up with the most soulful eyes. Bella has done wonderfully with children under 10, staying calm, relaxed, and wagging her tail happily around them. She’s friendly with adults as well, but she can be dominant with other dogs and would do best as the only pup in her home. She hasn’t met cats yet. She does get vocal on leash when she sees other dogs or people, and she may resource guard, so her ideal family will be one that can continue providing her with structure and guidance. Bella listens to boundaries (though sometimes a little stubborn at first!) and responds well to consistency. At a recent veterinary visit, Bella was found to have a torn cruciate ligament (similar to a knee injury in people). This is actually a fairly common condition in large-breed dogs, and many pups go on to live happy, comfortable lives after treatment and management. The injury is very straightforward for veterinarians to address, though it may require some rest, rehabilitation, or surgery depending on the approach her future family chooses with their vet. Bella is still her happy, loving self, but her adoptive family should take this into account when making the decision to adopt her. She’ll need a little extra TLC and patience as she heals, but the love she gives in return will make it more than worth it. Her perfect home would be one with kids to love on her, no other dogs, and a family who can give her gentle daily activity, plenty of affection, and help her keep her beautiful coat maintained. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly, and affectionate companion who will be your shadow, Bella may just be the perfect match! If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! September 1, 2025, 3:58 pm
