My story

Rusty is a 4 years and 4 months old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix) 14 weighing pounds. He came to the shelter as an owner surrender after being in a few different homes. Due to this we feel he has severe separation anxiety (Separation anxiety in dogs is a behavioral disorder where a dog experiences excessive distress when separated from its owner or family members. It's a common issue, with symptoms ranging from mild to severe which can include Barking, howling, and whining, Chewing, scratching, and destroying household items, inappropriate Elimination: Accidents in the house despite being house-trained, Restlessness: Pacing, panting, and trembling.) Rusty is a very sweet & affectionate boy, a cuddle bug. He knows the command sit. Loves playtime. Good with children. Good with other dogs. Crate trained (should not be crated for long periods due to previously being crated for hours at a time). Recommend a dental in the future.His adoption fee is $250, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
