My story

Meet Atlas 🐾, a 2-year-old neutered male German Shepherd mix with a gentle soul and a heart ready to heal 💛. Atlas is a very fearful boy who has made meaningful progress working with staff over the past month, slowly building confidence in a calm and patient environment. Loud noises and quick movements still scare him 😟, so he's looking for an adult-only home or one without young children. Though shy, Atlas is sweet-natured and has shown no aggression — he simply wants to retreat when feeling unsure 🫣. Once he’s comfortable, you'll be greeted with soft tail wags 🐕‍🦺, though he’s not the kind of dog who demands constant attention. He’s also shown friendly interest in other dogs 🐶 and may benefit from a calm canine companion, so a meet and greet is encouraged. Atlas has been in small play group with other canines and shows an over enthusiasm with some calm, gentle humps to his nearby companions. With time, patience, and love 🏡❤️, Atlas has the potential to blossom into a loyal, quiet companion.
