My story

Meet Bongja A Gentle Survivor with a Heart Full of Love! 🐾💗 ❤️ Age: Approx. 5 years old (Born Aug 2020) ❤️ Gender: Spayed Female (Oct 17, 2023) ❤️ Weight: 21–23 lbs ❤️ Breed: Shiba Jindo mix ❤️ Health: Fully vaccinated, heartworm negative (treated in 2023), spayed ✅ Personality & Behavior: ✔ People-Friendly: Incredibly affectionate and sweet — she loves being touched and cuddled ✔ Dog-Friendly: Gentle with other dogs ✔ Cat-Friendly: Excellent – lived with rescue cats for a year and with a family cat for 6 months ✔ Kid-Friendly: Great with children – especially bonded with younger kids in previous foster home ✔ Energy Level: Calm and easygoing with a love for walks (2–3 of 5) ✔ Temperament: Shy at first, but very loving and loyal once she opens up ✅ Training & Habits: ✔ Leash Trained: Yes – walks well on a leash and enjoys her strolls ✔ Crate Trained: Yes ✔ Potty Trained: Prefers outdoor potty but will use pads indoors if needed ✔ Barking: Rarely barks (only when very happy) ✔ Escape Tendencies: None ✔ Destructive Behavior: None ✔ Resource Guarding: None with people or animals ✅ Special Notes: Bongja had heartworm (stage 1) when rescued, but was fully treated and cleared in Sept 2023 She gets car sick — best for short trips (under 1 hour) She has a chicken allergy Currently eats hypoallergenic food. She sheds moderately Great with grooming and bath time 💖 Bongja spent a year in a private shelter, then 6 months in a loving foster home with a family of four and a cat. She adapted beautifully to apartment life with no complaints or issues. She's shy at first, but incredibly gentle, loyal, and affectionate. If you’re looking for a quiet, loving companion with a sweet spirit and kind eyes, Bongja may be your perfect match. Will you be the happy ending she’s been waiting for? 🏡💞 Adopt Bongja and let her fill your life with quiet joy and heartfelt connection.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bonja, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
