My story

You will not meet a sweeter pup than Summer! This adorable 2-year-old, 31lb. border collie mix is full of love to give. Summer adores people — big and small! She’s great with toddlers and will happily curl up in your lap (or on top of you!) for cuddle time. Her gentle, loving nature makes her a perfect companion. She also seems to get along with other dogs and cats just fine. She is a medium-energy gal and likes to play with her foster brother and nip at your legs, but also enjoys a good afternoon snooze in the sun. She does well riding in a car securely tethered in. Summer was found as a stray in GA, and we aren’t sure if she’s ever lived in a home. She eats like it’s the last meal she’ll get. Her foster family is working with her on some things, such as house training, “sit” and walking nicely on a leash. She already understands that doing her business outside gets her a treat, but doesn’t yet realize that going inside is bad. She’ll need a patient adopter who’s ready to help her learn. She loves toys so an ample supply of chew toys is a must. She barks at people and dogs at a distance on her walks, but up close she is sweet. She sleeps through the night in her crate. Summer is heartworm positive and is on the slow-kill protocol, currently being treated for heartworms with the slow kill method. We are looking for an active family for Summer; a fenced yard is preferred, but daily walks and plenty of planned exercise for her would work too.  If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and are looking for a sweet, snuggly companion who’s eager to love and be loved, Summer might just be your perfect match.  Please complete an app and tell us more about your family.
