  Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .  Meet Mookie!  Breed: Shepherd Mix Age: 5 months Weight: 20 lbs Color: Brown & Black Sex: Male Say hello to Mookie — or as his foster family affectionately calls him, Mook-A-Luke or The Mookster! This sweet, scruffy, and snuggly pup is ready to steal your heart and become your new best friend. Mookie is the perfect blend of gentle soul and playful pup. At just 5 months old, he’s already house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “no.” He’s an easygoing little guy who loves cuddles, belly rubs, and resting his head on your lap after a round of fetch or a good chew on his favorite bone. He’s still a bit shy and timid, especially around loud noises or new surroundings, but with a little patience and love, he warms up beautifully and shows off his loving, goofy side. Mookie has had positive interactions with dogs of all sizes, children of all ages, and even cats (though he’s still figuring them out!). What Mookie Loves: Fetch (he’s a little pro!) He’d love a family who can give him time to build confidence, plenty of affection, and daily play sessions. Whether you’re a family with kids, other pets, or a couple looking for your first dog, Mookie is ready to bring joy and love into your life. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
