My story

Meet our handsome grey and white kitty boy named Sassafras! Sassafras is about 8 years old, and he came to our shelter after his owner passed away and no family or friends were able to take him in. Poor Sassafras was left in the apartment for weeks without much social interaction except for a family member stopping by once in a while to feed him. He can be shy at first, and took some time to open up, but who can blame him after what he has been through! Now that he is comfortable with us, Sassafras really likes to get attention and will start nudging you with his head for more. He does have a silly side where he will roll around and show you his belly. Sassafras would love a quiet home with a patient family. It really is worth getting to know this sweet boy and he will make a great companion! Sassafras can go to a home with children 12 years old and older. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
