My story

Well darlin’, let me tell y’all ‘bout Miss Sookie. This 3-year-old, 60-pound Lab/Shepherd mix came up from the South with nothin’ but a big ol’ heart and a whole lotta love to give. She may not have every single manner polished just yet, but sugar, she sure knows how to be the perfect cuddle bug. Sookie is as sensitive as a summer breeze and just as sweet as pecan pie. Don’t be fooled, though—this gal’s got some playfulness in her too! She’ll romp and run, but at the end of the day, all she really wants is to climb right up in your lap (yes, all 60 pounds of her!) and drift off into the dreamiest nap. If you’ve been searchin’ for a devoted, gentle soul who’ll love you through and through, Sookie’s your girl. She’s just waitin’ for her forever family to give her the warm porch swing, cozy couch, or soft lap she’s been dreamin’ of. *Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only. If you arrive at the shelter without an appointment to meet a dog, we may not be able to assist you.
