My story

Socialization: At 7 months old Jarvis is still very much a puppy although a big one! Like most puppies he's energetic, inquisitive, playful and enjoys cuddle time. He's friendly when meeting new people, male or female. He's been good around children but because of his size and strength he would do best in a home with older children. He's in a foster home with 4 other dogs and plays well with them inside and outside of the home. Prior to coming into rescue Jarvis lived in a home with a cat that was his BFF. Training: If Jarvis was in school he'd be the adorable, goofy athlete that everyone loved. He needs a tutor in learning "drop it" and "recall" in his Commands Class. He's mastered sit, kennel, go upstairs and he's acing Puppy Love 101. Jarvis has been in detention a few times for counter surfing. Potty training was a no brainer for this boy. Crate trained: Jarvis is food motivated and goes into his crate willingly with a treat as an incentive. He doesn't whine or bark while crated. Jarvis is transitioning from being crated to having free roam of the house when we leave. So far so good! He no longer sleeps in the crate. He now sleeps throughout the night in the bedroom on a dog bed. He eats in his crate and uses a slow feeder bowl. Leash trained: Jarvis is strong and is capable of pulling someone over while on a walk. He definitely needs to work on leash training and should be trainable with a Gentle Leader leash. Due to a hand injury I'm not able to work on his leash walking. Activity level/requirements: Jarvis is the perfect blend of energy and calm. For a seven month old puppy he can be very chill, but don't let those moments fool you - he loves to race around the backyard and chase birds or his foster dog siblings. This typically satisfies his daily exercise needs, but he'll still show off his silly playful side by emptying the toy bin in the blink of an eye. Fence requirements: Jarvis's foster home has a 4 foot chain link fence. He'll put his paws on the fence so the neighbors have easier access for giving him head rubs. He's never tried to jump the fence even when squirrels and birds were in the neighbors yard. I'm not sure how he would do with an invisible fence but I do know he is a fast runner which is why he wears a FI collar. Personality: Jarvis is a happy puppy! He's not shy, and will quickly warm up to everyone and anyone. He thinks hands are petting and sofas are for snuggling next to his humans. Health history: Jarvis is UTD on vaccinations, is neutered, microchipped, & on Heartgard for monthly heartworm preventative. Foster comments: To know Jarvis is to love Jarvis. He is everything people adore about puppies: affectionate, silly, insanely cute and playful. We've enjoyed having Jarvis in our home but now it's time for him to have a home of his own. Jarvis is young and social, a home where he isn't left alone for long periods of time would be best for him. He loves running in the yard with another dog but he's also content to hang out with his people. He loves car rides especially if a pup cup is involved. Jarvis requested that his forever home have an over flowing toy bin. When Jarvis grows up he says he wants to be someone's best friend - is that you Foster Location: Schaumburg, IL Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000-mile distance between adopters & foster home. If interstate transport is provided for your adopted dog, there will be an additional charge of $75.00 for the required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI).  Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000-mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000-mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far Western states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions. ##2488083##
