Ryder

My story

Ryder is officially available for adoption. Located in Warrenton, Virginia adopters will need to make arrangements to meet him near there as we will not be transporting him. While he is the sexiest dog around please read his bio before deciding you need to own him. Ryder is part German Shepard and part Husky. While he doesn’t yet have the Husky desire for pure chaos he does absolutely LOVE a job, even if that job is learning new basic obedience skills he will need a home that can provide structure and discipline as needed. He is around 6 months old so has a good year of “teenager antics” ahead of him before really settling into adulthood. He walks very well on a leash and is developing a very nice auto sit when you stop. If you start talking to someone he will generally lay down at your side. He is learning stay and getting better at duration and will start on distance and distractions when ready. He is housebroken and is fantastic in a crate HOWEVER if left in a crate for more than an hour or two during day he will chew on any bedding. He is very good overnight in crate. Fantastic in a truck he jumps right in and sleeps in backseat. He has been working very hard on his human social skills. He wasn’t properly handled as a younger dog and had an aversion to meeting new people. Due to his age and breeds we will like him to be placed in a home with kids over 13 if there are kids. He is very dog friendly but he is young and enthusiastic so your older dog will likely NOT want him as a new housemate. This is a once in a lifetime dog for an adopter willing and able to continue his training and give him a fair supportive home environment. Application can be found below.
