My story

Thorington is a 3-year-old Labrador/poodle mix available for adoption as CCHS! Thorington has been with us for quite some time, originally coming here in 2023 and then again in 2025 due to his family not having time for his needs. Thorington is a very shy boy, and prefers people who go slowly with him. Since he is so fearful, we ask that interested adopters apply and be pre-approved before meeting Thorington. Once he's warmed up to you, he is so so lovey, wants to walk with you everywhere, and be your best pal. If you are looking for a dog who needs some extra patience, Thorington may be your boy! 🐾🐾To apply for Thorington, please submit an online dog application through our website at cuhumane.org. THEN either call the shelter at 217-344-7297 or contact us via email at adoption@cuhumane.org to let us know you have submitted the application and would like for us to begin processing it. Once we have your application all approved, we will schedule a time for you to come in and meet with Thorington!
