My story

Meet Louise, Our Pocket-Sized Roly-Poly Say hello to Louise, a 4.5-year-old Pocket Bully who joined the Freedom Squad from the Arizona Humane Society. Her journey is one of resilience, second chances, and finally learning what it means to be loved. When Louise first arrived, she was scheduled for her spay surgery at AZ humane — and to everyone’s surprise, it was discovered she was pregnant. Sadly, her body wasn’t in a condition to safely carry puppies, and at her age, it simply wasn’t fair to her. While that was unexpected news, we know it was the right decision for her health and her future. Now, Louise is embracing a puppy-free life and discovering the joys of being a dog outside of a breeding crate. Personality & Quirks Louise is full of personality and has her own silly way of demanding attention. She loves to greet you with a couple of gentle nibbles on your leg. If you’re wearing pants or a skirt, she might even grab it with her mouth to make sure you say hello. It’s all friendly — just her way of telling you she’s there and you’re hers! If you’re new to the breed, we encourage you to learn about Bully quirks, because Louise is the real deal. Louise is learning how to play with toys (sometimes interested, sometimes not). A loyal little shadow who loves to follow you around and stays under your feet. Playful with her foster siblings, though she’ll often wander off when she’s bored or simply curl up right next to you. She is always ready for mealtime, food is her love language. Health & Progress Louise came to us with poor skin and patches of missing fur from her past, but she has healed beautifully in foster care. Her coat is filling in, she’s no longer sad or shut down, and she’s excited about life. She does have a cherry eye, but since it’s not causing her any medical issues, we’ve decided not to put her through another surgery since this is cosmetic. Medically, Louise has no underlying health issues that our vet has concerns for. Of course, due to the way she was bred, she does have some genetic deformities that can’t be fixed. She also has classic “crate feet” from a life spent confined. But despite everything she’s endured, she is pretty healthy and thriving — a true testament to her resilience. She’s crate-free, using the doggie door, and still polishing up her potty training with her foster dad. Like any rescue pup, she will need patience and guidance as she adjusts to a new home — and we encourage adopters to keep the 3-3-3 rule in mind. Just because she acts one way in foster doesn’t mean she won’t need time and love to adapt in yours. She is gentle, mouthy, loving, and finally learning what it feels like to be a cherished family member. Playful with her foster siblings, though she’ll often wander off when she’s bored or simply curl up right next to you. Do not be surprised if she has accidents while in transition. Louise is vaccinated, microchipped and spay she is located in Scottsdale, AZ. Her adoption donation fee is $1000.00, you can apply for her at freedomfrenchierescue.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Louise, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
