Name:   Novak         Best Guess for Breed:  Retriever mix - some lab in there!   Best Guess for Age:   6 months as of September 2025         SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  21 lbs as of 9/7/25 - he is still growing!   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   Puerto Rico shelter - needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Novak would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Novak is Looking For:  Hi! I'm Novak. I'm a sato from Puerto Rico. Island life was good and all that for my sister Marina and I, but now we're ready to split up and get our own families and the DC area is the best place for that!but I'm ISO my own humans and the DC area is the best place for that! I can't wait to explore it all by the side of my new family - long sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures they can dream up - yes, please! Going to dog school would be great too, so I can show how super smart I am! Most of all, I want to be safe and loved and know where I belong. In exchange, I promise adoring gazes and happy tail wags and loyal companionship for all my days.  What do you say? Do I get to go home with you?What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once this pup has spent time in a DC area foster home! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
