Meet Pumyra: She’s the smallest of the bunch, the fluffball you instinctively scoop up and never want to let go, and she’s perfectly fine with that arrangement. Pumyra isn’t here for chaos, drama, or the group zoomies—she’s more of a “cozy cuddle and soft sigh” kind of girl. Basically, if you’re looking for a living, breathing teddy bear with just enough sass to keep life fun, you’ve found her. Pumyra is part of our Thundercats litter—currently clocking in at 6 weeks old and a mighty 6 pounds of Great Pyrenees fluff. She and her siblings came to us when they were barely a week old after their owner could no longer care for their mom and pups due to health issues. Mama Kotten arrived in rough shape herself, but in true superhero fashion, she turned it around and became one of the most devoted mamas we’ve ever seen. Pumyra may be the smallest of the Thundercats crew, but don’t let her size fool you—she’s already had her fair share of social encounters. She’s been around dogs (aka her rowdy siblings), cats (mysterious floofs that she wisely leaves to their own devices), and kids (tiny humans who drop snacks like it’s their job). She’s handled it all with quiet grace, mostly watching the chaos unfold like a tiny, judgmental grandma who’s seen it all before. In short—yes, she’s been around them, and no, she hasn’t filed any official complaints. Pumyra runs at about a 6 or 7 on the puppy energy scale—which, compared to her siblings’ WWE smackdowns, basically makes her look like a zen master. She’s the quiet one, the smallest of the litter, and the one that instantly triggers your “must protect at all costs” instincts. While her brothers and sisters are reenacting The Fast and the Furious: Puppy Drift, she’s more of a soft background soundtrack—sweet, playful, and perfectly content to watch the chaos instead of swan-diving into it. She’s shy, reserved, and has perfected the “sad little orphan eyes” look that guarantees extra snuggles. Don’t let her soft side fool you though—Pumyra is no pushover. She’s smart, already learning that potty goes outside, and she knows how to play without making it feel like a demolition derby. Basically, she’s the baby of the group, the sweetheart of the pack, and the one most likely to melt into your arms and convince you she’s made entirely of sugar and fluff. Pumyra may look like a delicate little teddy bear, but let’s not pretend she’s coming to you pre-installed with good manners and a user manual. Nope—her future adopters are signing up for the full “DIY Puppy Kit.” That means socializing her so she doesn’t think every stranger is a suspicious alien, potty training her so the great indoors doesn’t become her personal restroom, and leash training so walks don’t feel like you’re trying to fly a stubborn, fluffy kite. And let’s talk puppy-proofing. If you haven’t already considered what in your home doubles as “puppy temptation décor,” now’s the time. The upside? She’s sweet, smart, and ridiculously cuddly. So yes, you’ll have to put in the work, but you’ll also get the reward of watching her blossom into the best version of herself—loyal, affectionate, and forever your little shadow. Pumyra is a sweet, cuddly, smart, and has just enough sass to keep life interesting without turning it into a circus. Basically, she’s the total package, wrapped in fluff. But before you start typing “dibs” in the comments like this is Facebook Marketplace, let’s be clear: that’s not how this works. You’ll need to fill out an actual adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can send it to her foster family. Only then can you plan your road trip to Claremore, OK to pick up this pint-sized snugglebug. And because Pumyra is a classy lady, she’s not leaving just yet—she can go home around the beginning of October. Think of it as her big season premiere: “Coming This Fall—The Cuddle You Didn’t Know You Needed.”
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pumyra, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
