My story

Meet Rice-A-Roni (“Roni”)Looking for a lovable, floppy puppy who’s equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle bug? That’s Roni! This sweet boy is full of energy, curiosity, and affection, and he’s guaranteed to keep you smiling with his goofy, noodle-limbed “flops” and joyful hops onto benches, little walls, or right into your lap.During his Pups & PJs sleepover, Roni showed just how wonderful he is. He went on long walks by the river and through downtown Sacramento, greeting everyone along the way with tail wags and charm. At the Treehouse Café, he was a perfect gentleman—earning pets and even a special treat from the staff. Around other dogs, he can be a little “talkative” because he’s so excited to make friends.Roni met a 7-year-old child and, though a little bouncy at first, quickly settled with a sit and happily soaked up the love. With some gentle reminders and consistency, this eager-to-please pup will keep improving his manners. He already knows “sit,” waits politely for his food, and is showing that he may be potty trained, as he had no accidents during his sleepover. At home, Roni balanced his playful energy with lots of snuggles, even cuddling up next to his buddy Elvira whenever he wasn’t hopping around. He loves being close to his people (and his dog friends), proving that he’s just as affectionate as he is adventurous.Roni would thrive in an active home that can give him plenty of walks, playtime, and cuddles. He’s a puppy with a big heart, endless energy, and so much love to give—ready to flop right into your life forever.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt RICE-A-RONI, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
