My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, September 20th from 12-3pm unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $750 Meet Angel Soft – 16 Pounds of Pure Love!   Angel Soft’s name says it all— she’s a gentle, loving Maltese mix who weighs 16 lbs and is about 4–5 years old. She came to our rescue from a shelter, pregnant and in need of safety. In her foster home, she’s been the most devoted mama, raising her puppies with tenderness and care. Now that her babies are weaned and ready for families of their own, it’s Angel Soft’s turn to find the forever home she deserves.   Personality   Angel Soft is, in her foster’s words, “16 pounds of PURE LOVE!” She’s affectionate, sweet, and happiest when close to her people. Once she feels comfortable, she’ll shower you with kisses, lean in for belly rubs, and hop right into your lap whenever she sees the chance. She’s a companion dog through and through, ready to be your shadow and your snuggle buddy.   Other Pets   She has blossomed around other dogs. Living with both large labs and smaller pups in her foster home, she’s learned to feel completely at ease and even tries to play with the one closest to her size. With cats, she may bark out of curiosity, and in a new home with cats unfamiliar with dogs, she might want to chase— but she has never shown aggression or growling.   Daily Life   Angel Soft is fully potty trained and loves time outside running in the yard. She eats dry kibble freely throughout the day (while nursing her babies, this kept her well-fueled), plus warm wet food in the mornings and evenings. She currently sleeps in her foster’s office, often near her puppies, but is ready to graduate to life as someone’s cherished companion.   Coat Care   Her soft, non-shedding coat makes her a good option for people with allergies, but it will require regular grooming to keep her comfortable and looking her best.   The Perfect Home   Angel Soft will thrive with a family that wants a loving, affectionate, and loyal little dog. She’ll happily cuddle on the couch, join you in the yard, and be the kind of dog who makes every day sweeter.
