My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.I'll need daily interaction with you as I get used to my new life.I will need appropriate toys and positive outlets for my energy.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats.A volunteer writes: Pepper's a cat who likes to make choices and unfortunately she hasn't been able to make very many for herself lately. In her best efforts to figure things out, she's found herself a bit in her thoughts. Snuggled up in the back of her cubby, she waits for someone to notice her but isn't entirely sure what to do when they do. I wanted to follow her lead, but Pepper doesn't seem entirely clear on which direction to take either. She graciously accepted a few pets on her head but we know shelter life isn't at all her style, so we hope you'll be willing to take a chance on her.
