Introducing Zarah, the only girl from her trio of lively littermates! At just 10 weeks old and weighing a petite 8 lbs, this tiny German Shepherd mix is bursting with personality. Despite her small size, Zarah is smart, agile, and full of courage. After saying goodbye to some pesky worms that held her back, she's on track to thrive and grow into the happy, healthy pup she's meant to be. Zarah meant to participate at our adoption event at Pet Food Express Loehman's Plaza Sacramento on Sunday, instead she spent Saturday night at the VCA ER for us to sort out her lethargy, vomiting and diearrehea. She's now on a bland diet and feeling 100% better by showing us how quickly she can climb out of her pen thanks to her foster families cooking and meds. If you're able, we'd be so grateful for any donation towards our unexpected $1600 vet bill. Our budget for medical expenses has been stretched thin with Zarah and prior unexpected expenses of Heimdall's grade 2 heart murmur echocardiogram expenses from August and Lunaa's echocardiogram for her grade 5 heart murmur resulting in a SAS diagnosis from this spring. Lunaa, our hospice adopted shepherd, is due for her one year cardiogram on Oct. 9th. As part of her adoption, we agreed to be responsible for her heart condition related exam and diagnostic costs. Zarah loves the resident shepherds at her foster home, getting a good balance of correction, play and snuggles from the dog pack. Her humans adore her and so happy that she's back to her darling self. Zarah spends the days playing with toys, getting lots of outside time and napping to grow. Zarah had great time at Bark in the Park SJ on September 20th uniting with her littermates Dodger and Willy to soak up all the love, snuggles and pets. Thank you for stopping by and please note that the pups will be at Pet Food Express on September 27th from noon to 3 pm in Sacramento's Land Park neighborhood! Our volunteers will happily share information about efforts to help at-risk shepherds and how you can lend a hand too. You can find this and other upcoming ShepHeroes events here. Zarah is currently living in a loving foster home with three seasoned Shepherd mixes who are teaching her the ins and outs of doggy etiquette. Her foster family is showering her with affection and guidance as they work together on sleep schedules and potty training. One thing is for sure: Zarah is 100% sassy and irresistibly adorable! She loves toys, taking shortcuts off the steps and hanging out in the yard too. This little gem loves snuggles and prefers to be close to her people and canine companions. If you're looking for a sweet, spirited puppy to be your new best friend, Zarah might just be the perfect match for you! Prepare for a lifetime of love and fun with this brave little girl by your side. Have you checked out our YouTube channel? We would greatly appreciate your support by subscribing, liking, and commenting on the videos we share of our adoptable shepherds in action. You can also follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and our newest Threads account, where we post plenty of news and updates about our shepherds. As a foster-based rescue, ShepHeroes is always in need of fosters. There are many shepherds in our local shelters who require our help for a fresh start. Would you be willing to open your home and share part of your life to help these dogs find new families? You provide the love, and we will provide everything else! Saying "yes" today truly saves a life. Complete this https://www.shepheroes.org/foster-form, and we will be in touch as soon as possible. We appreciate your consideration. ##2518142##
