My story

Hello! I’m Dodger, an adorable German Shepherd puppy weighing just 8 pounds. I’ve had a rough start, being dumped on the streets, but a good bath, nutritious food, and lots of love have put me on the path to finding my forever home! After being dewormed, I’ve shed some pesky worms that were holding me back from gaining weight, and I’m already feeling much better! I’m one of three puppies in my litter, and I get along great with my sweet littermate, Zarah, and Willy who for a while went by orange collar! I’m currently enjoying life in my foster home in Sacramento, where I’m showered with love and cuddles from the youngest resident female shepherd and our amazing foster mom. Willy whom I was sharing my foster home caught a flight with Pilots and Paws to his foster home in San Jose on September 14th after the adoption event at Pet Food Express. And we had a blast playing and getting loved.  I head a great time at Bark in the Park SJ on September 20th uniting with my littermates and soaking up all the love our booth visitors gave us. I spend my days playing, napping, and learning from the two resident shepherds, who are teaching me about boundaries and personal space—important lessons for a little guy like me. I’m a huge fan of toys and love to have fun, but I also cherish my cuddle time. I'm working on potty training and have developed a predictable schedule, even using the doggie door when reminded to potty. One of our volunteers who met me at our adoption event on September 14th invited me to spend the week with them since my foster mom isn't feeling well.  I'm having a blast at their house too since their shepherd, also adopted from ShepHeroes, is happy to play with me.   I sleep soundly through the night, dreaming of all the adventures we’ll share together.
