– A Gentle Soul With a Big Heart Princess Aspen's story began in a most unexpected place—a quiet country porch on July 1st in the heat of Summer. Her mom, an exhausted Great Pyrenees now named Winnie, gave birth to Princess Aspen and her 7 siblings while the homeowners were away. When they returned, they found a litter of 8 fragile puppies clinging to their weary mother. Unsure what to do, they called Critter Cavalry Rescue, who quickly stepped in to give this little family a place to be raised with the best care and medical attention that they needed. Now, just a few months later, Princess Aspen has blossomed into a calm, gentle, and loving Great Pyr pup with all the wonderful traits of the breed. She lives happily in a foster home with her brother and children and other dogs. We call this puppy and her personality, “the total package.” Mild-mannered and easygoing, Aspen entertains herself with toys or naps peacefully by her people’s side. Though still a puppy, she already sleeps through the night, does wonderfully in a crate, and is almost potty trained. At 20 pounds and 10 weeks, she will grow into a stunning 75–80 pound Great Pyr beauty—soft, fluffy, and as huggable as she is kind. She adores snuggling and has a natural sweetness that makes her a joy to be around. Princess Aspen will be ready to join her forever family the weekend of September 27th. She can be transported from Nashville, Tennessee where she is fostered, to a cooler northern climate where her thick fur coat will keep her comfortable year-round. We do require a home with a fenced and secure backyard. The Pyr breed loves to hang outside for hours and hours and a house with a yard is the required setting for them to thrive and to roam safely. This little girl has known the love of a wonderful foster family and now she is ready for the one thing she’s always deserved: a forever home filled with love. To bring Princess Aspen home, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.
