My story

***** FOSTER NEEDED - IN BOARDING! ***** This 2 year old boy was e-listed at the shelter for being scared, shut down, timid, and overwhelmed. When one of our volunteers met Sol, we knew we had to try everything to save him. This sweet, shy pup had clearly lived a very sheltered life with little socialization, and was the kind of dog we always want to help most. A foster stepped up at the last minute and we are so grateful that Sol got his second chance! We’re so excited to watch Sol grow into the happy pup he’s meant to be. Sol has adjusted quickly to foster life and adores the other dogs in his home—he follows their lead in everything. He’s lower energy and enjoys cuddles, treats, and relaxing with his pack. He’s playful with other animals and does well in a crate. He’s still learning the ropes and working through some normal puppy behavior: marking, counter surfing, chewing, and getting into trash. Thankfully, he responds well to redirection—especially when treats are involved! Sol has shown that he is an affectionate boy who loves some quality snuggle time. Sol will need a home committed to helping him continue his socialization journey. He’s shown amazing kindness with kids—even choosing to sleep in bed with the 11-year-old in his foster home on night one. Very young kids that push his boundaries with fear can be too much for him, but for older kids that can respect his boundaries, we think he should be just fine. Sol hasn’t been tested around cats yet so unfortunately we do not know how he would react. We do know that he would do great in an active home with at least one young, playful resident dog to help show him the ropes and build his confidence.
