Riley (August 2025)

My story

Location: Greensboro NC Adoption Fee: $200   Meet Riley! An older little lady (maybe around 11-12 years old) that was surrendered to a rural shelter with horrible flea dermatitis — missing most of her fur! She is a larger dachshund mix at around 18 lbs. but she says that just means there is more of her to LOVE! Her fur loss did not stop her from being the sweetest little girl in the world. While in her foster home, Riley has regrown her fur and is finding her new “leash" on life! She is extremely cuddly and friendly with everyone she meets — except large dogs. That is where Riley kind of draws the line on friendly. She loves to play and go for short walks in her foster home — and is eager to please her people! Riley loves hard so she has some separation anxiety that might be a bit noisy for a home with shared walls (aka apartments/townhomes/condos). Riley has been a total delight in her foster home who has just loved her to pieces as she has gotten much needed TLC!
