Roll out the red carpet! Cue the paparazzi! Is this svelte beauty a supermodel? No - it’s Tina! Tina is estimated to be around 2 years old and is an adorable, speckled girl. We think she is likely a toy fox terrier mix, possibly with part cattle dog or German short-haired pointer in her DNA, due to her freckles and energetic alertness. She could be part Italian greyhound, Basenji, or whippet - other energetic breeds. We’re not exactly sure of her breed mix, but we do know Tina is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves attention. She is full-grown and weighs about 12lbs. She loves to cuddle and be petted, but can be a little shy at first until she gets to know you. Tina came to us from a Northern California animal shelter. She was found as a stray with a broken left femur, which was repaired by the UCD Vet School Fracture Program. Since then, she’s been resting and healing. Except for the surgical scar, you’d never know that this energetic girl ever had a broken bone, since she loves to run around her foster’s backyard staring/pointing at and chasing squirrels. She also loves to go for walks and does very well on a leash. Tina loves to cuddle and be petted, but can be a little shy at first until she gets to know you. Tina gets along great with her doggie roommates, but we’re not sure how she’d do with cats. Since she’s a little tentative around new things, a confident cat might be able to set Tina straight right from the beginning! We’re not sure how she’d do with kids since there aren’t any at her foster home, but since she’s a bit nervous, she might do best with older kids. Tina is housetrained and is very good at staying in her crate for a few hours at a time. Of course, she’d much rather sleep with you on the bed at night, and enjoys cuddling on the couch or on a floor pillow for a Netflix series binge watch or movie. Tina is kind of a Velcro dog - when she’s in the house, she can always be found within about 5 feet of her foster mom. Tina is very alert and attuned to noise, so she would make a good alert dog. Although she loves attention, Tina also loves toys and can entertain herself by dragging them out of her foster home’s toy box and chewing on them. Does this sweet girl sound like a good match for your family? If so, submit an application today! Tina's adoption fee is $250.
