ALL ABOUT ME  Name: Ricky Age: 5 years old Gender: Female Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Brittany Spaniel Colour: Brown, white Weight: 12kg / 26.5lbs Microchipped: Yes   MY RESCUE STORY Hi there! My name is Ricky. I came from a city pound where, through no fault of my own, I ended up on the euthanasia list simply because there wasn’t enough space. Thankfully, rescuers gave me a second chance, and now I’m searching for a family to call my very own. Even after a tough beginning, my heart is still full of hope and gentleness. I can’t wait for the day I finally know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cherished in a forever home.   MY HEALTH Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete) I’ve been spayed and have no known health issues.   MY PERSONALITY I’m a sweet, lively girl bursting with energy and curiosity! True to my breed, I love to run, explore, and stay on the move. I have a big appetite for both food and adventure, and on walks I enjoy investigating the world with my nose (and sometimes my mouth!). The staff and volunteers say I’m at my happiest when I have a toy to chew on and play with—that’s when my playful energy shines the brightest.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS With People: I’m a total social butterfly when it comes to people! I absolutely adore attention and pets—playtime with pets is definitely my favorite time. I’m happy to be picked up, and I love showing my belly as a sign of trust and affection to everyone I meet. With Dogs:  I’m also a friendly pup when it comes to other dogs! I love meeting new furry friends and joining in playtime. I’ve even been called the peacemaker—I stay calm and graceful, walking away politely if another dog is being pushy or rude, avoiding any unnecessary drama. With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, so my reaction is unknown. I like to chase birds when I see one so I’ll do best in a home without small animals.   ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES I’m bursting with energy, and you’ll notice it the moment we meet! I’m super active, always on the move, and love exploring everything around me.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m a smart girl who generally walks nicely on leash and enjoys following my handler’s lead—though sometimes my curiosity gets the best of me, and I may pull if something exciting catches my eye. I’m polite with people around food and don’t guard my bowl, but I can be a bit sensitive if another dog comes too close while I’m eating, so supervised mealtimes and separate feeding work best for me. I’m also crate-trained and know how to rest calmly in my kennel, which makes me a good girl when it’s time to relax. I’ve learned to potty both indoors and outdoors, giving my future family some flexibility. Since I love to explore with my mouth, I sometimes try to pick up random things outside—so I’ll need a watchful eye to keep me safe. The good news is, I absolutely adore toys! Chewing and playing with them is one of my happiest outlets, and when I get the zoomies, you’ll see me joyfully running around, full of life and personality.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment. A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors. A family that can shower me with love and attention. A family that is understanding of my high energy needs and willing to accommodate me with lots of exercise and playtimes. A family that understands my love for food and willing to train me so I can learn to be more patient when other dogs are near by.   SPECIAL NOTES I may have had a rough start in life, but my heart is full of love and hope. I’m a gentle, affectionate pup who dreams of a forever family to call my own. With patience, kindness, and lots of cuddles, I’ll become your loyal companion and constant source of joy.
