My story

Meet Snudge – The Sweet Soul with the Long Legs and Big HeartSnudge is a 2.5-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing about 15 pounds. This gentle boy is on the shy and timid side, especially around new people, but once he trusts you, he blossoms into a deeply affectionate companion. Snudge loves to curl up beside his person, drape himself across a lap, or quietly nap near you. His loyalty shines every time you walk back through the door—whether you’ve been gone five minutes or all day, he’ll greet you with joy.Snudge’s favorite activities include cozy naps, cuddle sessions, tasty snacks, and the occasional burst of zoomies that will make you smile every time. He’s moderately active and would be content in either a house with a yard or an apartment, as long as he gets regular chances to stretch his very long legs.Snudge is still learning about the world and needs a patient family willing to guide him gently as he builds confidence. He does well with other dogs and would benefit from having a canine companion to show him the ropes. He’s also good with cats, though he may pester them if the other dogs in the home are doing so.This boy is smart, food-motivated, and surprisingly athletic—he’s been known to climb onto tables or counters if he thinks there’s something yummy waiting. He’s mostly house-trained with plenty of outdoor breaks and is working on his leash manners.Snudge has made incredible progress since arriving in foster care—once too scared to leave his hiding spots, he now enjoys naps on a favorite kitchen pillow and bedtime snuggles on the bed. His foster family loves how quietly he sleeps at night and how his playful zoomies light up the room.Snudge is ready for a family that will offer him patience, reassurance, and love as he continues to grow into the confident dog he’s meant to be. In return, you’ll gain a devoted, affectionate companion who will remind you every day how lucky he feels to have found you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
